The Enigma Machine's Creation and How it Spread

The enigma machine was made by Arthur Scherbius, a co-founder of the company Scherbius & Ritter he first patented the ideas for the machine in 1918. He then went on to create the product for his company, this product was not intended for military use, it was a commercial product. However, the German military eventually adopted it as a mean for encrypted communication between their forces.
